Savile Row Bespoke

QUEEN ELIZABETH SCHOLARSHIP TRUST
July 2016

The bespoke cutters, tailors and shirt-makers based here at 10 Savile Row in central London are extremely passionate about the creation of bespoke clothing for our customers.

Since joining Dege & Skinner in March 2012, highly talented Auburn Claire Lucas (seen here on the right) has not only tailored some wonderful trousers, she has also just finished her second year of study at the Royal School of Needlework based out at Hampton Court.

Funded by QEST and achieving the highest score of any student at the end of her second year studying ‘Traditional Hand Embroidery’, Auburn is most inspired by period clothing and the clothing of historical female figures, such as Marie Antoinette and the Duchess of Devonshire.

A stylishly dressed lady in her own right, and naturally, making most of her own clothes, Auburn tends to favour a simple silhouette, with elegance. And of course, the more stunning, decorative adornment there is, the better for this aficionado of hand embroidery!

QEST was established to help support craftspeople of all ages and from all backgrounds, at a critical stage in their careers and thus sustain traditional British craftsmanship.
