CLOTH CHOICE, BESPOKE TAILORING
January 2020

Choosing the right cloth is an integral part of the bespoke tailoring process. Choose the wrong cloth and you might well be compromising on style, personal comfort and ultimately therefore, your desire to wear the new creation.

Head Cutter Nicholas De’Ath travels to see customers all over the world and on returning from the USA at the end of last year, remarked that he’d noticed a penchant amongst our American customers for slightly more casual cloths for their sports coats, lighter weight cloths that still hold their structure, even after a hard day of work or leisure.

For our bespoke shirt customers, comfort, style, cloth weight and finish are also important when deciding what to order and Head Shirt Cutter Tom Bradbury has noticed a trend towards softer, brushed cotton fabrics to keep the chill out.

To ensure you as our valued customer know about the latest cloth choices available to you from some of the finest woollen mills and cloth makers there are, we regularly update our swatch books of cloth and can easily send samples out to you to give you a true sense feel, or the handle, of the cloth before you place the order.
