For this year’s ‘London Craft Week’ we’ll be hosting ticketed ‘behind the scenes’ tours with Simon Crompton from renowned menswear blog ‘Permanent Style’.

Taking place on Wednesday 7th October, all tickets have now sold out, but we’re also participating in the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) Craft Trail.

This free event sees us displaying the exceptional work of QEST Scholar Sarah Wilkinson in our shop window at number 10 Savile Row. Sarah has worked here at Dege & Skinner for 37 years…and counting!

When Sarah left school aged 16 she decided to follow her passion for sewing and wrote to numerous tailors in the West End to ask for work. Our Chairman Michael Skinner offered her an apprenticeship and she has worked for the company ever since.

Highlights of Sarah’s career so far have been making the Royal Lancer Mess Dress seen here, as shown at the V&A Museum’s “What Is Luxury’ exhibition, as well as making the frockcoats for HRH Prince Harry and his Page Boys for his wedding.
