Savile Row Bespoke

Influential menswear blogger ‘Grey Fox’, who wore the bespoke suit cut and made here at number 10 Savile Row for the first time at Première Vision in Paris, said: “I am delighted with my suit and wear it with pride – it reflects the best of British manufacturing, design and tailoring skill”, David Evans.

Brian Hinnigan, apparel cloth director at Johnstons of Elgin, explains the decision-making process behind the choice of yarn for David’s cloth: “The initial cloth which caught David’s eye was 100% cashmere, but as it was to be styled as a suit I recommended development of a 56% cashmere/44% merino cloth, offering greater durability and performance, yet maintaining the softness in handle with luxury appeal.”

Bespoke Cutter Tristan Thorne, who also travels to meet, measure and fit customers who are based in Europe, cut the bespoke pattern. Referencing both the name of David’s blog, and the running fox of our own the corporate identity, if you were to look under the collar, you would notice a streamlined embroidered fox, added by skilled embroiderer and trouser maker, Auburn Lucas.
