Currently with five apprentices being trained across multiple departments, artisan craftsmanship sits at the very heart of our bespoke tailoring and bespoke shirt-making business here at Number 10 Savile Row.

Military Expertise
Holder of a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty The King for the creation of specific military uniforms, our specialist military department is headed up by Sarah Wilkinson. A 1993 QEST Scholar, awarded by The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), Sarah studied metal thread embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace.
QEST is a charity that transforms the careers of talented and aspiring makers by funding their training and education, creating pathways to excellence and strengthening the future of the UK’s craft sector.

To date, QEST has awarded more than £7.5 million to 900 or so individuals working across the UK in 130 different craft disciplines.
A Royal Warrant of Appointment is granted as a mark of recognition to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services to the Royal Household.
1993 Scholar
Sarah left school aged 16 and decided to follow her passion for sewing, writing to numerous tailors in the West End to ask for work. Responding to Sarah’s letter, current Chairman Michael Skinner offered her an apprenticeship, and she has worked for the company ever since.

HOMO FABER
Being a family-owned bespoke tailor and shirt-maker, we know the true value of artisan craftsmanship.
So we're delighted to announce our inclusion in HOMO FABER GUIDE, an online platform dedicated to craftsmanship that allows you to discover artisans and their masterpieces; explore museums, visit galleries and shops selling unique objects and enjoy experiences in cities across Europe and beyond.

Homo Faber Guide is a signature project developed by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, an international non-profit organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland, which was set up in 2016 thanks to the intuition of Franco Cologni and Johann Rupert.
The Michelangelo Foundation’s mission is to celebrate and preserve master craftsmanship, and for this reason it has created a map of the most significant representatives in this field, with the aim of connecting all its protagonists: artisans, designers, gallery owners, art curators, collectors and enthusiasts of high-quality handmade pieces.
