Exclusive 160th Anniversary Cloths

Established in 1865, this year we’re celebrating 160 years since the foundation of our bespoke tailoring house and shirt-makers, now located at Number 10 on London’s prestigious Savile Row.

Anniversary Tailoring

To mark this milestone in our fifth generation, family-owned company’s long and esteemed history, an exclusive collection of luxury, yet versatile tailoring cloths have been woven in England by one of the UK's finest mills.

Woven by Marton Mills in Yorkshire, there are four colourways to choose from, including a forest green as seen in the main image of this post, tying in with the seemingly everlasting trend for green clothing for men.

All four colour ways have been woven in a unique basket weave style. The basket weave design features a navy blue warp going down the cloth, giving each of the four cloths a feeling of flowing movement and dynamism when being worn.

Colour Range

There are four colour options for the 160th Anniversary suitings.

Rust, Light Blue, Denim Blue and Dark Green.

Green seems to have an evergreen popularity at the moment in men's tailoring and fashion, with no end in sight for its appeal to stylish dressers.

All are 100% wool worsted in 11/12oz weight, making them ideal for being made-up into jackets, suits and trousers and worn in a multitude of locations.

House Collection

As well as the four basket weave tailoring cloths, this year also sees us launch our first three 'House Collection' shirting cloths.

Preparing for this year's 160th anniversary celebrations, Head Shirt Cutter Tom Bradbury and his apprentice Xanthe Godwin travelled to Italy to view the extensive ‘Thomas Mason’ archive held by Albini, Group with a view to selecting unique cloth designs for the launch of our new ‘House Collection’ of shirt cloths for Dege & Skinner.

The Thomas Mason archive dates back to the 1800s and the ledger dated 1865, the same year as Dege & Skinner’s foundation, provided the inspiration for the chosen designs.

To quote Managing Director William Skinner: “2025 is a major milestone in the company history of Dege & Skinner. As well as celebrating our 160th anniversary, recently it was announced that we’ve been Granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty The King, to continue to make military uniforms for The Royal Household.”

``And on top of those achievements, my father and Company Chairman Michael Skinner is celebrating his own 90th birthday this year. So it’s an important year in the esteemed history of our Savile Row bespoke tailoring house.``

“Our continued success, and current expansion into new markets such as Singapore and Malaysia, are testament to the skills and expertise that we hold in our highly talented team here at number 10 Savile Row.”

The 160th Anniversary Collection and new House Collection shirt cloths are now available to view and order from 10 Savile Row, as well as being shown during the various domestic and overseas Trunk Shows. Details of Trunk Shows can be found online at https://dege-skinner.co.uk/trunk-shows/
