About
‘Zephyr’ cotton is a smooth cotton cloth first developed by English cloth merchant ‘Thomas Mason’ in 1818. It is non-mercerised, avoiding the sheen of the more formal ‘poplin’ cotton ready-to-wear shirts that we make and sell.
The fabric’s lightness allows for it to be woven with precise definition, making it perfect for executing the many colours, checks and lines involved in intricate plaid patterns.
Head Bespoke Shirt-Cutter Tom Bradbury oversees all Dege & Skinner’s shirt production, including our selection of ready-to-wear shirts, thereby ensuring the quality is as expected from a family-owned tailoring business that’s been operating for more than 150 years…and still going strong!
Permanently based in the shop at number 10 Savile Row, Tom also travels around the world holding Trunk Shows for overseas customers who want to have their shirts cut and made by Savile Row’s very finest.
