‘Marcella’ refers to a weaving style, normally used with cotton yarn, which is characterised by raised parallel cords or geometric designs in the fabric. Able to hold more starch than plain fabric, it produces a stiffer shirt front, making it ideal for a formal black-tie or white-tie dress codes and associated social occasions.
