The use of older models continues to be a popular topic amongst style commentators and national media outlets, such as The Times. So as we celebrate our own family bespoke tailoring business’ 160 year anniversary, why have we too joined this global trend?
Trend For Older

Joy of Custom
Firstly and quite simply, because our team of bespoke cutters based here at 10 Savile Row very much enjoy working with David Evans, aka Europe's influential style blogger, 'GreyFox'.
David is not only a bespoke customer of ours, working with us over a number of years on various projects that he's covered on his blog, he also chose us to make his son's wedding outfit when he married.
So what started out as David's personal and private quest to remain stylish over the age of 40 soon developed into a genuine passion for British manufacturing and stylish, good quality clothing and tailoring for men of an older age.

Ming
Courtesy of our good friends at central London's luxurious 'Hotel Cafe Royal', which also happens to celebrate its 160th anniversary this year, David and his fellow model, Marcus Goodwille, were shot by Nick Clements, editor of Men's File magazine, in the Hotel's stunning three-bedroom penthouse and rooftop terrace, the 'Dome Suite'.
In the candid shot below, taken behind the scenes on the photoshoot, Marcus can be seen jovially reclining in his tartan wedding trews in the impressive free standing, Ming green bathtub.
Overlooking Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus, Cafe Royal Hotel's Dome Suite can sleep up to eight adults.

As well as being wonderful to work with, David appeals to our bespoke customer base, who tend to be aged over 30 years old. He brings with him a seasoned air of sophisticated elegance, developed over time in his full and fulfilling life, with multiple facets to his varied career, to date.
Versatility
Being a family-owned, 160 year old bespoke tailoring house and shirt-maker, our budgets can't compete with other mainstream high street tailors.
So David and Marcus modelled all sorts of outfits during the shoot, including the four different colourways of the unusual basket weave cloths woven exclusively for us as part of our 160th anniversary this year.
The colour options are Rust (seen here), Dark Green, Light Blue and Denim. Samples can be sent on request. If you'd like to receive a sample of these, or any other fabrics, please contact us via email to '[email protected]' or by calling us during office hours on +44(0)207 287 2941.

White Tie
Models and customers David and Marcus were joined, somewhat reluctantly, by our Front of House, Jonathan Atkins-Hewitt.
Jonathan was tasked with donning his full formal white-tie to be photographed for a full page print advert for the Royal Caledonian Ball.
A staple of the London social season for centuries and widely believed to be the oldest charity ball in the world, the Royal Caledonian Ball remains a much-anticipated gathering of Scots south of the border.
First held as part of the great ``Tartan Revival`` of 1822, the Ball has been held almost annually since then.

Cancellations of the Royal Caledonian Ball have only occurred because of events beyond the organising Committee’s control – including two world wars, the death of King Edward VII, and more recently the COVID19 pandemic.
